Polyoxometalates Encapsulated into Hollow Periodic Mesoporous Organosilica as Nanoreactors for Extraction Oxidation Desulfurization

In this work, the highly active polyoxometalate (PW2Mo2) with Venturello structure and its corresponding catalyst were applied in catalytic desulfurization for first time. PW2Mo2 as an component was effectively encapsulated hollow periodic mesoporous organosilica (HPMOS) to form nanoreactor PW2Mo2@HPMOS, where central cavity shell facilitate mass transfer both provide a stable place react organic sulfides. Desulfurization test results show that PW2Mo2@HPMOS can almost remove four sulfides simultaneously from diesel 2 h under mild conditions. Besides, nanocatalyst be reused recycled at least seven consecutive tests without any noticeable loss performance. With rapid development of economy, massive use sulfur-containing fuel has huge impact on global climate. After combustion fuel, realized SOX is important inducement formation acid rain, sulfur particle also major source haze. Therefore, removing compounds issue needs solved immediately.
